An advisor to The Sohn Conference Foundation, Lauren consults to philanthropists and foundations on mission, grants strategy, grants management, operations, compliance, board governance, and succession planning. She specializes in negotiating grants for donors and has extensive experience overseeing long-term grants and grant strategy. Lauren has nonprofit and grant-making experience in health & medicine, child welfare, higher education, immigration, the arts, and international giving. Prior to advising philanthropists, Lauren served as Assistant General Counsel for the New York City Department of Mental Health and Hygiene, and she was an associate at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP. Lauren served as a law clerk to the Honorable Barbara S. Jones of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Lauren earned, with honors, her B.A. from Harvard College, her J.D. from Harvard Law School, and her Master’s in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
