10TH ANNUAL PRIX GALIEN USA AWARDS CEREMONY
The Prix Galien recognizes outstanding innovation to improve the human condition by means of biomedical research. It is considered the industry’s equivalent of the Nobel Peace Prize, the highest accolade for biomedical research and development. The annual Galien Forum is a meeting-of-the minds at which pressing issues are debated by leaders from industry, academia and government.
Six recipients of the Pershing Square Sohn Prize for Young Investigators participated in this year’s Forum at the Alexandria Center for Life Science in New York City. The event featured talks by leaders in the pharmaceutical and medical industries. Following the Forum, special guests, board members and prize winners attended the Prix Galien Awards Ceremony at the American Museum of Natural History.
A special and exclusive dinner was held at the United Nations the evening before the Forum, hosted by the President of the French Republic, Francois Hollande. Francois Delattre, Ambassador of France to the United Nations, specifically acknowledged the six prize winners in attendance that evening.
