8TH ANNUAL PRIX GALIEN USA AWARDS CEREMONY

The Prix Galien recognizes outstanding innovation to improve the human condition by means of biomedical research.  It is considered the industry’s equivalent of the Nobel Peace Prize, the highest accolade for biomedical research and development.  The annual Galien Forum is a meeting-of-the minds at which pressing issues are debated by leaders from industry, academia and government.

At this year’s forum, the Pershing Square Sohn Cancer Research Alliance hosted the panel, “Pioneers for a cure: the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in cancer research”.   Chaired by Marc Tessier-Lavigne, PhD, President of The Rockefeller University, the debate focused on innovation in cancer research in New York City, and panelists discussed the momentum behind cancer research in the city, while sharing their own personal experiences in the field and weighing in on developments we might see in the future.

Following the Forum, Special guests, board members and prize winners were invited to attend the Prix Galien Awards Ceremony at the American Museum of Natural History.
